Philanthropy
welcome
We believe that together we can help improve the livelihood of those in need. Therefore, 20% of Harmony HK bi-annual fashion shows go to support charities supporting refugees, education, women’s inequalities, gender inequalities, orphans, and environmental projects NGOs. For the past few years, we have gotten a chance to donate to the following Charities making changes in our society.
Avocats des Sans Voix (ASV); translated to “Lawyers of the Voiceless”, is a Congolese non-profit which was founded by Leon Otshudi Okondjo a lawyer in Kinshasa. ASV strives to amplify the voices of the easily ignored; the marginalised in the society. Abandoned and wrongly convicted, and then subject to sexual violence, the founder’s mother’s plight and his own plight in a bonded child labour system inspired him to start ASV. The goals of ASV are to advocate, protect and empower some of Congo’s underserved communities.
Learning Together fosters initiatives that integrate Asylum Seekers and Refugees (ASR) in Hong Kong and builds leadership within an empowered community. With a particular focus on the power of youth, Learning Together runs a three-part program that seeks to inspire and enable young ASRs between the age of 15 and 25 to achieve their full potential despite institutional challenges.:

Art Women started in Hong Kong as a collective of women from the refugee community who make arts and crafts as a way to navigate trauma. The group, founded by Clarisse Akonyi, has been registered as a charity in Democratic Republic of Congo -her home country.
Art Women ASBL in Congo promotes and protects survivors of sexual violence, street children and orphans. The organization works on the ground to promote the vocational education and literacy of vulnerable women and children, to develop sustainable pathways for their futures. Art Women ASBL also provides temporary housing, health support and shelter for vulnerable people, partnering with different organizations in furtherance of their mission to help those in need.
In light of the global coronavirus pandemic and the severe lack of resources in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Art Women ASBL is also specifically assisting the General Hospital of Dikungu, located in Kasai, which is the same hospital where the founder was born. The hospital not only lacks PPE but basic masks and gloves for frontline medical staff. With nearly 8,000 cases in the country and no sign of slowing down, all efforts are being made to support medical frontline workers through this edition of the Harmony Show.
